Who We Are
Cannaversity® was born inside the OZ Stoners forums in 2006 — a dedicated space for cannabis education, harm reduction, and informed discussion at a time when almost no credible Australian resources existed.
What started as a thread became a platform. Over the years, Cannaversity grew into a recognised resource for cannabis knowledge: covering cultivation, pharmacology, legislation, and patient advocacy long before the industry existed in any formal sense in Australia.
The four pillars of the shield — culture, medicine, politics, and sustainability — have guided Cannaversity from the beginning. They reflect a whole-plant philosophy: cannabis understood not just as a substance, but as a cultural force, a medicine, a political issue, and an ecological opportunity.
Today, Cannaversity is evolving again. Cannaversity 2.0 is being built as a full consulting and expert marketplace — connecting individuals, patients, businesses, and professionals with verified cannabis expertise. The foundation was always education. The next chapter is putting that education to work.

Born inside OZ Stoners
Cannaversity begins as a dedicated education section within the OZ Stoners community — Australia's longest running cannabis forum, founded in 1999. The goal: create a credible, moderated resource for cannabis knowledge at a time when almost none existed in Australia.
Building the knowledge base
Cannaversity expands into a comprehensive platform covering all four pillars — culture, medicine, politics, and sustainability. Thousands of Australians rely on it for accurate, non-judgmental cannabis information when mainstream sources offered little.
Community and reform work
As cannabis reform gains momentum in Australia, Cannaversity becomes a trusted community voice. Education resources, industry updates, and advocacy work position the platform as a serious reference point during a period of major legislative change across the country.
HHI Expo — stepping into the industry
Cannaversity takes its place at the HHI Expo, marking a significant step from online community into the broader cannabis industry. The response confirms clear appetite for credible, independent cannabis expertise at a time when Australia’s industry is just beginning to formalise.
